Welcome to Easterside Academy

"Giving the Chance to Shine"

Our School Day

Our school day starts at 8.55am.

In order to support parents and carers and ensure a prompt start to the day, the school doors open earlier than this time. This enables children to settle and allows them to participate in some extra basic skills learning before school. Lower down the school parents are welcome to come in and spend ten minutes with their child learning.

Reception and Key Stage 1 classroom doors open at 8.45am.

Key Stage 2 playground doors open at 8.40am.

School finishes for everyone at 3.00pm.

Early Years and Key Stage 1 children can be collected from their classroom door and Key Stage 2 children from the Key Stage 2 yard. Teachers are usually available to speak with parents/carers at the end of the school day or by appointment.

Attendance

Your child coming to school every day is extremely important and therefore their attendance is closely monitored in school.

This work is regulated by support from Educational welfare Ltd. You can find out more about the Education welfare here.

Our Educational Welfare Officer monitors registers, undertakes home visits and sets up attendance case conferences when necessary. This service can be extremely helpful to parents when needed but they also refer cases to the courts when there is persistent low attendance, which is affecting a child’s educational attainment.

If you have difficulty getting your child to school every day or on time, please ask to speak to a member of our Care Team or Roz Pickersgill our Education Welfare Officer who comes into school every Wednesday morning.
